Skin tag treatment at home can be easier (and cheaper!) then getting it treated at a doctor's surgery or hospital.
The first method is simply freezing them off. Liquid nitrogen therapy is very painful, and quite expensive, but is the standard way of treating tags in a doctor's surgery or hospital - Just in your home instead! The liquid nitrogen should be applied to the area once every week, for about 5-6 weeks. It destroys the cell tissue, and you will notice it becoming smaller and smaller as the weeks go on.
The second method is slicing or pulling them off. Use a sharp scalpel, knife or scissors, and cut as close to the skin and as quickly as you can. It is highly recommended that you numb the area around the tag first, with ice cubes or something else that is as effective. I would not recommend this method, when I tried removing my skin tag in this way it was extremely painful, I bled everywhere, and then it grew back!
The final method is cutting off the blood supply. This involves tying a piece of string or cotton/thread about the skin tag, as close to the skin and as tight as possible. This method is most effective for tags that aren't in public view, such as your chest or back. If you have a tag on your face, you might need to have assistance applying the string, and you may get a few funny looks if you walk down the street with a piece of string hanging down your face.
The skin tag treatment method that I used made my tags disappear for good, in just over 3 days.
